Making the Best of Small and/or Random Musical Ensembles

We'll be discussing ways of getting a good sound out of random assemblages of musicians, such as you would find in a pickup band. I'll be providing tips on arranging, assigning parts, improvisation, utilising/integrating different skill levels, and generally making anyone who shows up to play useful, nay- valuable! Random musicians, instruments and skill levels are welcome, especially for demonstration purposes.
