"The Nightingale" by Thomas Weelkes, Women's Ensemble

Greetings Good Gentlewomen all! It is the year of Our Lord, 1608, in these blessed lands of England. Our favorite Gentleman of the Chapel Royale, Thomas Weelkes, has composed for us a delightful new madrigal. Please join with me in my salon as we endeavour to bring this new piece " The Nightingale" to life. It is written especially for us in A Capella, 3 part voice, Soprano 1, Soprano 2 and Alto.This charmingly funny and delightfully endearing piece portrays a contest amongst all our most lovely songbirds to bring forth that which is the most beautiful of all and wins the bell!
