SCA Dancing 101

Dance was once considered "an accomplishment which would have rendered my company welcome to all", a way to "please the damsels" and a "pleasant and a profitable art which confers and preserves health." (Arbeau, 1589) As all good gentles should have at least a passing knowledge of dance, this class will cover several basic dances commonly done in the SCA today: Lorayne Alman, Cassandra Bransle, Petit Vriens, Amoroso, Gathering Peascods, and Black Nag.
