What were people dancing during the Renaissance in the Holy Roman Empire? In Hungary or Poland? How was dance culture different or similar to Italy or France? We do not have the wealth of sources that are available for Italy or France, but some dance instructions have survived, as well as clues from dance music, the records of people who were dancers or musicians, descriptions of festivities, etc., to give us a picture of dance in Central Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries.
