Introduction to 16th C Italian Dance

This class will focus on some of the simplest steps of 16th Century Italian dance, as described by Caroso and Negri. We will start by learinging a basic range of steps, such as riverenze, continenze, seguiti and spezzati. After learning some short dance sequences containing these steps the class will move on to a discussion of the more complex steps and a short dance for newcomers to 16th C Italian dance.
