Setting Original Dances to Period Tunes

How do you avoid doing the same ten dances every week? Make up your own! There are many wonderful tunes that your local musicians are already playing, which are just begging for steps to be set to them. We'll talk about some "rules", then dance variations to melodies for which no steps exist... yet.
